Nokia will be launching their Nokia 5230 in the US and baptizing it with a new name!
United States will have Nokia Nuron instead of Nokia 5230 which is the same phone! Actually there is no difference, just in case you are wondering why Nokia has to give 5230 a new name when it has to step on a new land, I guess that is just the way it is. Remember when other brand of phones changes the name of their phones whenever they release it to another country? Oh well maybe it’s really a practice for mobile phones manufacturers.
I would have to say that this phone is definitely Nokia 5800’s successor, the features are all the same and so is the looks(though the camera is downgraded to 2mp compared to the 3.15mp of 5800). Nokia Nuron will be available in Nokia Files Patent For Self-Charging Smartphone That Never Needs… Small, battery-powered gadgets make powerful computing portable but unfortunately, there's still a continual need to recharge the batteries of phones and other gadgets by hooking them up to a tangle of wires. Fortunately the latest technology trends proposed a way to cut the cords by wirelessly supplying power to devices and Nokia researchers have developed a new technique for powering mobile devices that could draw enough power from ambient radio waves or kinetic energy to keep a smartphone topped up. Nokia has filed a US patent application for a phone that can work continuously without requiring to be plugged into a wall socket for a recharge, just buy a phone, signing up for a good data plan and enjoy in unlimited freedom because you’ll newer need a charger again, sounds great isn't it? If you ask me, this is a major step toward a portable, adaptable and cost-effective technology for powering mobile devices and it's not as far-fetched as it may seem. Nokia envisages Motorola Now Number 3 Ouch. According to Gartner, Motorola has sold 38% less phones in the third quarter of this year than the same quarter of last year. Samsung has taken over the number 2 spot, while Nokia now enjoys 38% market share. All despite total mobile sales increasing by 15% to reach 289 units.
Gartner's report speculates on the reason behind Motorola's troubles:
Its problems have been two-fold, according to (Gartner analyst) Milanesi. Motorola hasn't developed a phone to ignite the imagination in the way its popular Razr did a few years ago, she said, leaving it with a weak line-up. "The Razr2 has done okay, but it's not had the same impact that the first Razr did," she said.
In addition, Motorola's sales into the channel - or the phones it ships to retailers - have been weak, she said. This was offset in the first half of the year because retailers had a buildup of Motorola stock, which they could sell at low prices to boost shipments, she said. "This qu Nokia to Move 500 Million Phones This Year Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia is expected to see its handset shipments moving on an ascendant curve during the ongoing year, Nokia’s new mobile phones Head, Rick Simonson, stated recently in an interview. The company aims at registering a faster growth than other handset vendors, he also mentioned, adding that the company is expected to be on par with Apple and RIM on the smartphone market by 2011. “We have three operating platforms - Maemo (for mobile computers), Symbian (for smartphones) and our own proprietary platform OS for our mobile phones, which also happens to be the largest in the world in terms of installed handset volumes. In 2010, Nokia will ship over 500 million units across three platforms, which will be about 40 per cent of the global market share and will reach everywhere, from the remotest village in Kenya/parts of Africa to India, to the US,” Simonson stated. At the same time, he also admits that the Finnish vendor has been losing market share in the Affordable Nokia 6303i classic Unveiled One of the latest mobile phones that is set to deliver a nice range of capabilities to cellphone users out there while keeping the costs at a low level is the Nokia 6303i classic, a device unveiled today by the worldwide leading handset vendor Nokia.
